MRC deployments offer unique experiences to those members involved.
Most, if not all deployments involve supporting individuals during some of the most vulnerable moments of their lives.

Logistics Strike Team Meeting
We will review Logistics Strike Team member roles and responsibilities during training events, deployments, and exercises. There will be time to ask questions and meet the Logistics Strike Team Leads.
Membership on this strike team may be of particular interest to individuals who do not have a health care license.
Mass Casuality Planning
Health Emergency Response Office (HERO) staff, a few members of the Behavioral Health Response Strike Team and Logistics Strike Team, as well as leadership from Boynton Mental Health and Student Counseling Services participated in an active shooter exercise in July. This exercise provided an opportunity to practice activation, notification, and operational components of the Witness Support Team.
Witness Support Team functions include witness triage, psychological support, physical/medical support, and logistics support all while providing a calm and reassuring presence to witnesses.
Recruitment and training for the Witness Support Team has been identified as a priority for our MRC unit this Fall. We will begin reaching out to MRC members who meet the criteria for this specialized strike team in September.
Student Advisory Group
Applications for membership on the U of MN MRC's Student Advisory Group are being accepted between now and September 23.

Health Emergency Response Office & CIDRAP
I am really enjoying being back working at the University of Minnesota and now joining the Medical Reserve Corps. Having both studied and worked in public health emergency response, I know the importance of this work and the great people that choose to enter this field.
