Assist in Response Efforts During a Health Related Emergency Join the Medical Reserve Corps
The MRC at the University needs clinically licensed individuals as well as non-licensed individuals who have an interest in assisting in response efforts during an emergency that affects the physical and/or mental health of individuals impacted.
Current MRC members with clinical experience include nurses, doctors, dentists, nursing assistants, pharmacists, respiratory therapists, public health professionals, epidemiologists, veterinary medicine professionals and others. Over 50% of MRC members at the University are not clinical providers. These members come with varied backgrounds and provide essential logistical and operational support ranging from expertise in IT, communication, administration and hospitality.
STEP 1:
Confirm you meet MRC eligibilty requirements Membership in the U of M Medical Reserve Corps is open to students, faculty, and staff with a current and active affiliation with the University's health sciences or other select programs.

STEP 2:
Fill out the MRC registry Fill out the MRC Registry with your personal and professional information.
IMPORTANT: use your U of M email address as your primary email in the registry, not a personal one. Make sure you fill out all fields completely, including license info, if applicable.

Complete the MRC orientation Complete the online U of M Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) Orientation. Topics covered include your role in a public health emergency, volunteer liability, the communication process for notification or deployment as well as other important information.

Look for a welcome email from the MRC Once you have completed steps 1-3 above, we will send you a welcome email that provides you with next steps on how to get involved as an active MRC member. You will also receive periodic membership e-newsletters.
