I was inspired to join the Medical Reserve Corps by those around me who were involved in the hurricane Katrina and the 35W bridge collapse MRC deployments.
I have worked with the University’s MRC as one of the Team Leads for the Pharmaceutical Response Strike Team. Past strike team events include gathering to hear a nationally renowned speaker address the role of the pharmacist in public health emergency response, and drills that allowed us the opportunity to practice response skills.
I have enjoyed working with other pharmacists to find a way to serve communities affected by public health emergencies.
