Response Teams

University of Minnesota Medical Reserve Corps Response Teams

The U of M MRC has several Response Teams. These teams offer an opportunity for smaller group interaction and provide opportunities aligned with member expertise and interest. Response teams also provide a structure for targeted training, operational planning, and exercises.

Time commitment varies, but generally there will be at least one response team meeting per year, during the academic year. Other response team activities are planned by team leads or MRC leadership.

Members are not required to join a response team. Alternatively, members can join multiple teams. More information on current teams is below.

Behavioral Health Response Team

This team works to minimize the harmful psychological effects of stress and trauma on individuals and families impacted by a disaster. Members of this team must have behavioral health professional experience or be a graduate student working towards licensure in a behavioral health related profession.

Vaccination Team

This team began during COVID to support our partners at Boynton Health. Vaccination Team members support vaccine clinic operations, including but not limited to: client check-in, logistical and supply support, client flow management, and vaccination of clients.
 

Logistics Response Team

Logistics Response Team

This team is responsible for supporting response operations. They ensure appropriate supplies, equipment and other resources are available both before and during deployments. This team is responsible for the physical set up of sites, staff check in and out, and on-going resource management.
 

Pharmaceutical Response Strike Team

Pharmaceutical Response Team

This team contributes expertise about pharmaceuticals used in public health emergencies.
 

Veterinary Medicine Response Team

Veterinary Medicine Response Team

This team provides expertise regarding animal health during emergencies.
