I joined the Medical Reserve Corps after I was introduced to it from the series of "Future Physician" courses I took last year. As a pre-medical student, this group provides volunteering and educational components, both of which I find interesting and very relevant to my goals of becoming a well-rounded pre-health student.

I volunteered at the most recent N95 Respirator Fit-testing deployment in which I worked with other MRC volunteers to fit-test medical students for N95 respirators. I have also attended several educational sessions in which I was trained in anything from proper emergency protocol to CPR and AED defibrillation. The experiences and hands-on education I have received from this group are truly unmatched by any other organization at the U of MN.
