I joined the Medical Reserve Corps in my freshman year after taking a class with Jill DeBoer about infectious disease. I wanted to gain more hands-on learning experience about how to prepare for and help in the case of a real-life emergency, and the MRC does just that. The MRC combines my love for helping others and health care. It's been really beneficial to connect with other health care professionals who are passionate about helping in emergencies and who love public health.
Since joining, I have participated in the Staff Staging Drill, AHC Prepared: Bystander CPR and Stop the Bleed. This spring, I recently joined the Student Advisory Group! It's been really interesting to be able to connect with other students from various career paths as well as connect more with the coordinators
