Courtney Wetternach

Courtney Wetternach, MPH has been a leader in public health and healthcare emergency preparedness and response since 2002.  Trained as a health educator and epidemiologist, she has 14 years of experience and expertise in public health preparedness and response. Most recently she was a Principal Planning Analyst for the Hennepin County Public Health Emergency Preparedness Unit, where she used her skills in leadership, incident management, training and education, planning, developing partnerships, grant management, facilitation, and performance improvement. 

She has been recognized at the local, state, and national level for her accomplishments, and has spoken to colleagues at many large professional conferences.  She managed responses to many emergencies including the Minneapolis Bridge Collapse (2007), H1N1 pandemic influenza (2009), Republican National Convention (2009), Measles outbreak (2017), Super Bowl LII (2018), Hiawatha Homeless Encampment Coordination of Human Services and Public Health (2018-2019), the NCAA Men’s Final Four (2019), COVID19 (2020-21) as well as many smaller incidents and events in both healthcare and public health. 

In her role as the U of MN Medical Reserve Corps Coordinator, she is looking forward to learning about current and future MRC members and their unique skills, as well as sharing information and experiences that will continue to make the U of MN MRC one of the best around!
