COVID-19 testing and vaccination remain a priority on our campus and across the state. Subsequently, our MRC unit continues to receive requests for assistance from our campus partners (Boynton), Local Public Health, and others.

Campus COVID Testing Support
Boynton Health has requested support from the MRC to assist with COVID-19 testing on campus as part of their MTest effort. MRC members may volunteer on the Minneapolis or St. Paul Campus.
Dates:
- Monday through Friday on the Minneapolis Campus
- Tuesdays and Thursdays on the St. Paul Campus
Location:
- Minneapolis Campus: Recreation and Wellness Center
- St. Paul Campus: Student Center, room 110
Times:
- Minneapolis Campus: Monday through Thursday, 8:00 to 4:30 daily. Friday's, 8:00am to 3:00pm
- St. Paul Campus: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9:00am to 3:00pm
Roles Needed
1. Nasal Swabber: Minneapolis Campus Only
- The Swabber inserts a nasopharyngeal swab into both nostrils to gather a sample.
- Must be currently licensed as a RN, PA, CNP, LPN, MD, Dentists, EMT, Certified Phlebotomy Technician, Medical Assistant, Pharmacy Technician, or Pharmacy Intern.
- NOTE: If this is your first experience as a Nasal Swabber, please email [email protected]. Boynton will train you in before you are asked to start swabbing.
- Personal Protective Equipment will be provided by Boynton
- Wear your Medical Reserve Corps t-shirt, if you have one.
- Parking: Will be validated for those who park in campus parking ramps.
NOTE: When volunteering at the St. Paul Campus testing side, park in the Gortner Ramp, take a photo of your parking ticket and text the ticket to 320-309-8350 for validation.
2. Antigen Test Kit Dispenser (NEW ROLE): Minneapolis and St. Paul Campuses
- The Antigen Test Kit Dispenser will hand out Antigen COVID test kits.
- One test kit per person (student, staff, or faculty)
- Individual must show UCard to receive a test kit
3. Greeter: St. Paul Campus
- One day only (for now): Wednesday, February 2
- Greet clients as they arrive at testing site
Eligible MRC members may go to Shiftboard to sign up for shifts related to this deployment.
Carver County COVID-19 Saliva Testing Support
Local public health agencies continue to be severely stretched to meet the demands for testing and vaccination services across the state and metro area. Carver County MRC is requesting assistance with their semi-permanent saliva testing operations in Waconia.
Location: Waconia Events Center, 8155 Paradise Lane, Waconia, MN 55387
Dates and Times: M, W, F 11:30am-4:30 pm in February. Partial Shifts are available.
Roles: Testing Monitor, Greeter, Usher
Parking: Large surface lot available onsite. Transit options to the site are limited.
Clothing and PPE: We recommend wearing light and comfortable clothing to the site as you will be required to wear full PPE including a gown, gloves, eye protection, and N95 mask. If you have not been fit tested for an N95, you can be fit tested onsite.
Other details: When you arrive for your shift, ask to be directed to the Site Lead. You can find out that person’s name on the Sign Up Genius. You’ll receive just in time training on site before your shift.

Temporary Position Available
Care Coordinator, Afghan Medical & Social Support Teams
Our MRC Behavioral Health Response Strike Team has been deployed for the past several months to provide mental health support to newly arriving Afghan Evacuees.
We will be hiring a full time Care Coordinator to assist with the coordination of referrals for follow up care from the medical and social support (Behavioral/Mental Health) intake assessments conducted with resettling Afghan evacuees.
